Traditional shallots from Brittany

The word “Traditional” means that the shallot is planted (and not sown, like onions). They are planted one by one by hand and grow as a clump of shallots.

At the packaging level

The name “Traditional shallot” guarantees the consumer the product’s flavour because of how it is grown.

At the product level

The Traditional shallot can be identified by 3 very specific features :

  1. Asymmetry (A) on a vertical axis compared with the root disc.
  2. Scar (B) on the root disc resulting from the shallot clump (C).
  3. Several axillary shoots (D) in at least 2 series of concentric layers (E).
